Different Methods of Creating a Stop Motion Animation

Lego blocks and mini-men used to celebrate 30 years of the Lego mini-man. Even the set is made from Lego. This one needs a large amount of the raw materials before you can begin, but it does show how the little figures can be made to move using their built in flexibility, and just what is possible. Music used to set the scenes as the video changes from country to country.

Really clever French clip made with very simple set from Doll's
furniture and lollies. Good sound track made with the 'voices'
of the characters. Lollies are used as characters and moved
as one object with no flexibility but the story is easily
understood.
Made by a group of 5th graders in the USA, this video using claymation.
The characters are preformed and then act out the story which the students have written and then narrate and act out. The camera work is interesting as it has some close shots and some from further out, whereas most stop motion animation keeps the camera at a set length.

Stop motion animation using drawings. Each shot has
something slightly different added or subtracted from the picture.
This is the method that made all the old animated cartoons.
The story is an old joke, but I just don't get it. I think some of
my class would like it though.
A group of students and teachers at Centro Rural de Educacion Superior in Estipac, Mexico, created this cut-paper animated short about a day in the life of their school community. This technique really needs a camera mounted directly over the background so the paper cut outs can be moved
without difficulty.
